AN INVITATION TO CELEBRATE 20 YEARS OF ICET

Dear former/current ICET students, families, staff, and teachers,

I hope this message finds you well.

We at ICET are about to mark 20 years since our establishment. Time has flown. In this time we have had the great privilege of educating, collaborating with, and getting to know hundreds of remarkable people—students, homestay families, teachers, and administrators. We are what we are because of the involvement of each and every one of you. So, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank you.

To mark 20 years, we are creating a special publication of our stories over these many years, and would like to invite you to participate. Through our experiences we know that spending time with or as young people from abroad can be life changing. For our students, these are formative years. For our families, these are often precious (and challenging!) growing and sharing experiences.

ICET graduates are now scattered across the world. They have become mums and dads, are travelling in pursuit of their dreams, are working in multinational enterprises, are studying their third or fourth languages, and, we hope, are truly enjoying their lives.

We want to know what happened after ICET. How were you changed? What are you doing now? How has this experience impacted your life and/or the life of your family?

If you want to take part, here’s what we need from you…anything within 500 words by November 30, 2014. Any style is welcome. Images and photos are welcome too. Simply e-mail your contribution to fusae@icet.edu.au.

We haven’t yet figured out what the final format will be (that really depends on your contributions) but we will share with all contributors the final product when done.

Thank you again for your input. We are excited about this opportunity to reconnect and relive the many rich memories. Please do pass this message onto any former ICET students, families, staff, and teachers you’re connected with.

With gratitude,

Fusae Harada
